How was the score for the Fronius Primo GEN24 Plus calculated? By utilising the Solar Review Inverter Assessment Criteria V2.3 >

  1. Hi there, I think this is the big update to the very popular Primo. I was thinking if waiting for this inverter, but then I saw your noise comment: “Noise emission of 100 dB (A) (Not released).” Which seems even worse than the Primo. But could you explain where this info comes from – is it accurate? What does the (A) mean? Thank you

    • A-weighted decibels is the reference to the (A). It is very unlikely the Fronius Primo GEN24 Plus will posses a noise emission level of 100 dB(A). In this case, where a manufacturer has released product data but not clarified certain criteria which is an essential need to know information for an end user, the worst score in the Solar Review Inverter Assessment Criteria is defaulted. In this instance, Fronius still have no temperature debating guidance released. Once released both criteria will be updated as to the scoring criteria.

    • After insightful discussions with Fronius engineering staff at InterSolar Europe 2019, the expected release of Fronius GEN24 models should be expected in the following order; Fronius Primo GEN24 Hybrid, Fronius Primo GEN24 – non hybrid, Fronius Symo GEN24. No release dates have been advised and one should anticipate a lengthy rollout between the variants. Industry comments suggest the market may not even see the release of the Fronius GEN24 Hybrid until late 2020.
