Warranty period

Product warranty: 15 years

AIKO warrants the Comet 1N against defects in materials and manufacturing workmanship for 15 years from commencement: the earlier of 30 days after delivery to the end customer or 90 days after factory shipment. Optional paid extensions lift the term to 20 years (15+5) or 25 years (15+10).

Linear performance warranty: 30 years

Guaranteed output: at least 98% of rated Pmax at end of year 1, declining no more than 0.35% per year: at least 90.6% of nameplate Pmax at year 25 and 88.85% at year 30. Measured under Standard Test Conditions per IEC 60904-9 (2020).

What’s covered

Defects in materials and workmanship

Covers manufacturing defects and material faults that stop the module performing within rated specifications. Remedy: at AIKO's discretion: is repair, replacement, or credit. Removal and reinstallation labour is not included.

Power output shortfall

Where measured STC output falls below the guaranteed thresholds in the performance schedule, AIKO supplies additional or replacement modules to cover the shortfall, or at its option a proportional credit.

Exclusions

Labour and installation costs: Removal of defective modules and reinstallation of replacements are not covered: these costs remain with the system owner or installer.

Physical damage from external causes: Damage from external forces: hail, storm, fire, flooding, lightning, other acts of nature: is excluded, as is glass breakage from external impact.

Improper installation or maintenance: Void if modules are installed, operated, or maintained contrary to AIKO's installation manual or applicable Australian standards (AS/NZS 5033). Installation must be by a CEC-accredited installer.

Cosmetic changes and normal degradation: Minor discolouration, surface soiling, and gradual output reduction within the guaranteed degradation band are not covered as defects.

Unauthorised modifications or repairs: Any modification, repair, or intervention carried out without AIKO's written authorisation voids the warranty for the affected module.

Transferability

Transferable to a subsequent installation owner, provided AIKO is notified and original proof of purchase and installation records are supplied.

How to make a claim

Lodge claims through the original installer or AIKO Energy Australia Pty Ltd (Melbourne; 1300 245 628; aus.service@aikosolar.com), with photographs and error codes; an on-site inspection may be arranged. The Comet 1N is a commercial and industrial module: its 15-year product warranty is shorter than the 25-year term on AIKO's Neostar residential range.
