One publisher, two distinct publication roles
review.solar is owned and published by Solar Analytica Pty Ltd (ACN 653 738 115), a privately held Australian company based in Perth, Western Australia. Solar Analytica develops the scoring methodology and underlying research. review.solar publishes the consumer-facing scorecards, market overlays and editorial Findings.
A shared publisher does not make every output the same kind of claim. Product scores are deterministic calculations. Market readiness is a separate regional evidence state. Findings are editorial interpretations of published data and named sources.
From source document to public record
Product records begin with manufacturer datasheets, warranty terms, certification documents, regulator notices and other identified sources. The build-time Solar Analytica engine applies the published rubric and emits the vendored dataset used by this site. The web application displays that output; it does not recalculate scores in the browser.

Current commercial relationships
The publication is currently self-funded. It carries no advertising, sells no leads, receives no affiliate or referral fees, and accepts no payment from manufacturers, retailers or installers. As at 26 July 2026, there are no commercial relationships with scored manufacturers to declare. The publication does pay external providers to build and maintain this platform, which is a different kind of relationship and is disclosed in full below.
Any future sponsorship, licence, data service, partner relationship or other material conflict will be entered here before or when it becomes active. It will not affect a score, ranking, safety notice or correction decision.
Who built the platform, who runs it, and where that stops
The review.solar platform was built for Solar Analytica Pty Ltd by McKercher Labs, the operating brand of McKercher Corporation Pty Ltd (ACN 164 130 581), under a commercial engagement. McKercher Labs is part of a Western Australian group that also operates solar retail and installation businesses, and that group therefore holds commercial interests in some of the product categories this publication scores.
McKercher Labs holds no ownership interest in Solar Analytica Pty Ltd. It has no editorial role, no input into the methodology, no input into scores or rankings, and no say in which products are covered or when they are reviewed. Editorial decisions rest solely with Solar Analytica Pty Ltd.
McKercher Labs does not maintain the production environment and retains no access to it. It built the platform and handed it over, and holds no repository access, no deployment rights, and no access to production data or scoring records. Confirmed as at 27 July 2026.
Ongoing platform maintenance is carried out by Gigabit Agency, an independent engineering firm that holds no interest in the products this publication scores and no ownership interest in this publication. Gigabit Agency also provides services to McKercher Corporation as a client. The two are separate businesses and neither holds an equity interest in the other.
The engagement runs in one direction: Solar Analytica Pty Ltd pays for development and maintenance. No payment, fee or consideration is received from any of these providers or their related businesses.
How products enter the benchmark
Inclusion is selected editorially using category relevance, buyer interest, market availability, source quality and research capacity. A listed product is not an endorsement. A missing product is not a negative finding. Public search-and-purchase proxies may prioritise the research queue, but they never affect the score.
Verified manufacturer representatives may lodge primary documents with each claimed fact tied to an exact page or section and market scope. Readers may submit evidence through the correction path. Every item is reviewed under the same evidence rules. Payment cannot secure inclusion, accelerate a favourable finding or suppress an unfavourable one.
Accepted evidence is not applied directly. Each claim receives an editorial disposition, catalogue target and stated scoring effect. Proposed score changes are previewed by the same build-time engine used for publication. The final record names the publication commit, or records that verified evidence caused no catalogue change.

Calculation, interpretation and generated answers
The scoring engine calculates scores from the published rubric and sourced record. Editors select research priorities, verify evidence, write Findings and explain what the data means. They cannot manually lift or lower a product score.
Ask Watt is an explanatory interface. Its generated responses may summarise published records, but they cannot write to the dataset, change a criterion, alter a ranking or replace the source trail on a scorecard.
Changes remain accountable
Readers and manufacturers can challenge a claim, provide a better primary source or exercise a right of reply. Verified material corrections receive a dated publication note. A right of reply is open regardless of whether the brand has any relationship with Solar Analytica.

Frequently asked
Can a commercial relationship change a review.solar score?
No. Scores are produced by the published deterministic methodology from sourced product data. Commercial relationships, submissions and advertising cannot alter a score, ranking or finding.
Does review.solar accept manufacturer submissions?
Yes. Verified manufacturer representatives may lodge document-linked product facts through the invite-only partner portal. The publication verifies every claim before changing a record, and a lodgement does not guarantee inclusion or a favourable result.
Is Ask Watt part of the scoring engine?
No. Ask Watt generates explanatory responses from published site information. It cannot edit product data, criteria, scores or rankings.
