The benchmark

Built in the open, scored on evidence.

Sourced scorecards across solar panels, home batteries and inverters, measured on what they deliver, not what the brochure says. This is a curated, growing benchmark powered by Solar Analytica. Every included product is measured by the same published rules, and every number shows its source.

The benchmark is global. Market views add exact-model availability and local evidence for Australia and the United States without changing a product's score.

The method, in the open

01

Scored on evidence.

Every score is built from measured performance: published third-party test data and manufacturer specifications, cross-checked rather than taken on trust. The brochure is where we start, never where we finish.

02

Sourced in full.

Every figure on a scorecard names where it came from: sourced data, or a labelled estimate when the manufacturer doesn’t disclose it. Nothing is presented as more certain than it is.

03

The same rules for everyone.

Each panel, battery and inverter runs through one published rubric. No product is placed by payment or relationship, and none is exempt from the method.

A benchmark that improves in public. The scores move as the evidence moves: new test data, field results from the people who install and live with these systems, and corrections we publish rather than bury. If you work in the sector and read the data differently, tell us. Better inputs make better benchmarks.
