Warranty period

12-year limited product warranty

CSI Solar warrants to the original buyer, for twelve years after the Warranty Start Date, that products are free from material and workmanship defects adversely affecting functionality under normal application, installation, use, and service. The buyer must prove the malfunction results exclusively from such defects. Power output is addressed separately under the performance warranty.

25-year limited product warranty: residential rooftop (selected models only)

For residential rooftop installations only, the term extends to twenty-five years for models CS6.1-60TB-XXX and CS6.1-54TB-XXX (Black Frame, IEC1000V and IEC1500V). The 620W model (CS6.1-72TB) does not qualify under this warranty version and retains 12-year coverage. The 12-year warranty's limitations, exclusions, and conditions apply.

30-year linear performance warranty

For thirty years from the Warranty Start Date, front-side output at Standard Testing Conditions is warranted at no less than 99% of labelled power in year one, declining no more than 0.4% annually from year two, and no less than 87.4% by end of year thirty. Warranted rear-side output equals stated power bifaciality multiplied by warranted front-side output. Testing measurement uncertainty applies to all measurements.

What’s covered

Defects in materials and workmanship

Covers material and workmanship defects adversely affecting module functionality: junction box, back sheet, glass, EVA encapsulant, aluminium frame: provided the module operates under normal conditions per CSI Solar's installation manual and annexes.

Performance shortfall remedy

Where measured output falls below the warranted level, CSI Solar may, at its option, repair or replace modules, supply additional modules to cover the wattage deficit, or refund the shortfall's fair market value. Rear-side bifacial remedies are calculated at 10% of the wattage difference; replacements may be a similar model if the original is discontinued.

Transportation costs

Once a claim is accepted and a return authorised, CSI Solar covers reasonable transport of affected modules to its designated location and of repaired, replacement, or additional modules back to the original installation. Insurance, taxes, duties, and customs clearance remain with the buyer.

Exclusions

Removal and reinstallation labour: Removal, installation, and reinstallation costs, including applicable e-waste disposal levies: remain with the buyer, under both the product and performance warranties.

Improper installation and constant shading: Claims are void where modules suffered improper installation, unauthorised service, or improper system design causing constant shading or external stress.

Acts of nature, damage and tampering: Damage from power surges, flood, fire, lightning, vandalism, accidental breakage, acts of war, or other events outside CSI Solar's control is excluded, as are modules repaired without authorisation or tampered with.

Relocation: Modules that have been moved from their original installation location are excluded from warranty coverage.

Unpaid products and missing documentation: Claims fail where CSI Solar has not received full payment or the buyer cannot supply proof of purchase, serial numbers, and required supporting information.

Cosmetic changes and altered labels: Cosmetic wear-and-tear: scratches, staining, discolouration, rust, mould: is not covered. Claims are void if the product label, type, or serial number is altered, removed, or illegible.

Transferability

Transferable to a party taking legal title to the products, provided they remain installed at the original installation location.

Submit claims in writing without undue delay: claimed quantity, serial numbers, purchasing invoices, supporting proofs: to Canadian Solar MSS (Australia) Pty Ltd., Technical Department, Level 27, 101 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000; +61 3 8609 1844; service.au@csisolar.com. CSI Solar may require third-party testing by an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited institute. The 25-year extended term applies only to CS6.1-54TB and CS6.1-60TB Black Frame models; the 620W CS6.1-72TB carries the standard 12-year warranty.
