Warranty period

25-year limited product warranty: residential rooftop

For the All-Black CS6.1-54TM-XXXH on residential rooftops, CSI Solar provides a twenty-five year warranty against material and workmanship defects adversely affecting functionality; non-rooftop installations carry the standard 12-year term. The buyer must demonstrate the malfunction results exclusively from such defects under normal operating conditions. Power output is covered separately under the performance warranty.

12-year limited product warranty: non-residential and commercial installations

In non-residential applications or on commercial rooftops, the standard 12-year limited product warranty applies, with the same coverage scope: material and workmanship defects adversely affecting functionality, and all listed exclusions.

30-year linear performance warranty

For thirty years from the Warranty Start Date, output is warranted at no less than 99% of labelled power in year one, declining no more than 0.4% annually from year two, and no less than 87.4% at year thirty. Verified at Standard Testing Conditions with testing measurement uncertainty applied.

What’s covered

Defects in materials and workmanship

Covers material and workmanship defects adversely affecting functionality across the full module assembly: junction box, back sheet, glass, EVA encapsulant, aluminium frame. Abrasion, improper installation, and external factors are not covered.

Performance shortfall remedy

Where measured output falls below the warranted level, CSI Solar may, at its option, repair or replace modules, supply additional modules to cover the wattage deficit, or refund the shortfall's fair market value. Replacements may be a similar model if the original is discontinued, and become CSI Solar's property.

Transportation costs

Once a claim is accepted, CSI Solar covers reasonable transport of affected modules to its designated location and of repaired or replacement modules back to the original installation. Insurance, taxes, duties, and customs costs remain with the buyer.

Exclusions

Removal and reinstallation labour: Removal, installation, and reinstallation costs, including applicable e-waste levies or regulatory charges: remain with the buyer, under both the product and performance warranties.

Non-rooftop installation (25-year term): The 25-year term applies only to residential rooftops: ground-mount, carport, commercial rooftop, and other non-residential applications are limited to the 12-year term.

Improper installation and shading: Warranty is void where modules have been subjected to improper installation, application, alteration, or system design causing constant shading or external stress.

Acts of nature, damage and tampering: Damage from power surges, flood, fire, lightning, vandalism, accidental breakage, acts of war, or other events outside CSI Solar's control is excluded. Unauthorised repair or tampering also voids warranty coverage.

Relocation: Modules moved from their original installation location are excluded from all warranty coverage.

Unpaid products and missing documentation: Claims fail where CSI Solar has not received full payment or the buyer cannot provide required documentation, including proof of purchase and serial numbers.

Cosmetic changes and altered labels: Wear-and-tear cosmetic deterioration, and any alteration or removal of the product label, type, or serial number, void warranty claims.

Transferability

Transferable to a party taking legal title to the products, provided they remain installed at the original installation location.
