Warranty period
15-year product and materials warranty
Each battery module and the hybrid inverter carry a 15-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential conditions, measured from installation or commissioning. Applies to products purchased and installed in Australia and New Zealand through authorised EcoFlow installers.
Capacity retention guarantee: 70% after 15 years or 10,000 cycles
Each LFP module is guaranteed to retain 70% of its original rated capacity for the 15-year warranty period or 10,000 charge-discharge cycles, whichever is reached first, up from 6,000 cycles in the previous PowerOcean generation. At typical single-cycle-per-day residential use in Australia, the 15-year limit binds before the cycle count.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers manufacturing defects in battery modules and hybrid inverter: cell failures, BMS faults, enclosure structural defects: under normal operating conditions. Remedy: repair or replacement at EcoFlow's discretion.
Capacity below the guaranteed retention threshold
If usable capacity falls below 70% of original nominal capacity within the warranty period and before the cycle limit, EcoFlow will repair or replace the module. The shortfall must be verified through EcoFlow's diagnostics: remote monitoring data from the EcoFlow app or a site inspection.
Australian Consumer Law statutory rights
Provided in addition to, and without limiting, Australian Consumer Law (ACL) rights. Major failure: consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund. Minor failure: EcoFlow may repair rather than replace. Statutory guarantees cannot be excluded.
Exclusions
Labour, removal, and reinstallation costs: Labour to remove a defective unit or reinstall a repaired or replacement one, and any associated electrical work: is borne by the consumer. Confirm whether the installer offers a separate labour warranty.
Damage from improper installation or non-authorised modification: Voided by installation by a non-authorised or unqualified electrician, hardware or firmware modification by parties other than EcoFlow, or connection to inverters or loads outside EcoFlow's approved compatibility list.
Damage from external causes: Physical damage, flood, lightning, fire, power surges, incorrect supply voltage and other events outside normal operating conditions are excluded. The IP66 rating protects the hardware; it does not extend warranty coverage to such events.
Normal capacity degradation within the guaranteed threshold: Capacity loss above the 70% retention floor is normal degradation, not a warrantable defect. Replacement triggers only when measured capacity falls below the guaranteed minimum.
Products without valid proof of purchase or registration: Claims require valid proof of purchase from an authorised EcoFlow installer or retailer; registering via the EcoFlow app eases claims. Second-hand purchases are not covered: the warranty is non-transferable.
Transferability
Original end-user purchaser only; non-transferable. If the property is sold the warranty does not pass to subsequent owners: second-hand OCEAN 2 Plus systems have no recourse under it.
How to make a claim
Direct claims to the original installing contractor first: EcoFlow requires installer involvement. If the installer is unavailable or has ceased trading, lodge directly with EcoFlow Australia Pty Ltd on 1800 955 865 or via the EcoFlow Energy portal. Remote diagnostic data, site photos or an on-site inspection may be required before approval; replacements dispatch on approval, and return shipping of defective units may be required at EcoFlow's direction.
