Warranty period
10-year product warranty
Covers defects in materials and workmanship for ten years from original installation. Remedy: repair or replacement at FoxESS's discretion for units confirmed defective under normal operating conditions. Conditional on installation by a qualified installer in accordance with FoxESS guidelines and all applicable local regulations.
Capacity retention guarantee
Guarantees a minimum 60% of nominal usable capacity over the 10-year period, subject to operation within the charge/discharge cycles and environmental conditions in the product manual. Below that threshold under normal use, FoxESS repairs or replaces the affected modules at no charge for parts. Separate from, and in addition to, the product defect warranty.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers faults from manufacturing defects or substandard materials: battery cells, battery management system (BMS), internal wiring, enclosure components: where units fail to operate within FoxESS's published specifications under normal residential or light-commercial conditions.
Replacement parts and units
Accepted claims receive replacement parts or a unit of equivalent or greater specification at no charge for parts. Delivery costs within Australia are generally covered by FoxESS or its authorised Australian distributor: confirm at the time of claim.
Exclusions
Labour and reinstallation costs: Cost of removing the defective unit and installing the replacement is not covered: labour costs are borne entirely by the owner.
Physical damage and misuse: Excludes damage from improper installation, physical impact, flooding, fire, lightning strike, vermin, or use outside the product manual's operating parameters.
Unauthorised modification or repair: Any unit that has been modified, opened, or repaired by persons not authorised by FoxESS will have its warranty voided immediately.
Non-compliant installation: Installation not performed by a suitably licensed electrical contractor, or not in accordance with FoxESS installation guidelines and AS/NZS standards, will void the warranty.
Normal degradation above retention floor: Capacity fade that remains above the 60% retention floor is considered normal degradation and is not a warrantable defect.
Consumables and cosmetic wear: Consumable components, cosmetic deterioration, and surface corrosion attributable to environmental exposure are not covered.
Transferability
Transferable to a subsequent owner of the installed property, provided FoxESS or its authorised distributor is notified of the ownership change and a warranty transfer is completed within the required timeframe. The remaining period transfers; no new term commences.
How to make a claim
Lodge Australian claims through the FoxESS authorised distributor or installer network, with proof of purchase, installation records and commissioning details. FoxESS may request remote diagnostic data via its monitoring platform before dispatching a replacement. Contact the original installer first: they escalate to the distributor as required.
