Warranty period

Years 1–5: Fronius Warranty Plus

The first five years run under Fronius Warranty Plus: materials, servicing labour, and transport included. Fronius or an appointed third-party technician performs any required removal and reinstallation at no charge within this period.

Years 6–10: Fronius Warranty (materials only)

Years six through ten cover materials (parts and components) only: labour, transport, and removal/reinstallation are excluded, with owners funding professional removal, shipping to Fronius and return to site. Based on Fronius's published 5+5 structure; terms under the post-June-2026 automatic 10-year model may vary: confirm with Fronius.

What’s covered

Manufacturing defects

Covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, including internal component failure under normal operating conditions within the inverter's rated specifications.

Replacement parts and repair

Valid claims are remedied with replacement parts or repair work. Where repair is not practicable, Fronius may substitute an equivalent unit or issue a credit note for the inverter's current market value.

Transport costs (years 1–5 only)

In years one to five under Warranty Plus, all transport costs: returning the inverter to Fronius and shipping the replacement or repaired unit back: are covered. Not so in years six to ten under the standard Fronius Warranty tier.

Exclusions

Labour and reinstallation (years 6–10): Removal, reinstallation and labour are not covered in the second five-year period: the owner arranges and funds professional removal and return shipping to Fronius.

Wear and tear components: Excludes regular wear-and-tear components: DC isolators, fuses, bayonet connectors, varistors, surge arresters, string fuses: which have a shorter expected service life than the main unit.

Improper installation and modification: Excludes damage from improper installation, unauthorised modification, or non-compliance with Fronius installation specifications. Modifications to the existing PV system, building wiring, or ancillary devices are not covered.

Accessories and peripheral devices: Fronius accessories, monitoring devices (including Ohmpilot and Smart Meter), and third-party batteries are excluded: they cannot be registered under the inverter warranty and rely on their own separate terms.

Unregistered units: Not registered on Fronius Solar.web within 30 months of delivery: no extended 10-year cover: the applicable statutory guarantee only.

Transferability

Transfers to subsequent owners provided the inverter remains at its original location and the system is unmodified, no transfer if relocated.

How to make a claim

Lodge claims through Fronius or an authorised service partner. Register on Fronius Solar.web (solarweb.com) within 30 months of delivery to activate the full 10-year cover: unregistered units revert to the shorter statutory guarantee. Coverage starts at commissioning, or no later than 24 months after factory shipment, whichever is earlier. Fronius may repair, replace with an equivalent unit, or issue a credit note for market value toward a future purchase. A paid 15-year extension must be purchased within six months of commissioning via the Solar.web store; pricing varies by model.
