Warranty period
Product (materials and workmanship) warranty: 25 years
Hanwha Qcells publishes a 25-year product warranty for the North American Q.TRON BLK M-G2+ 415-440 W series. The benchmark is anchored to the 440 W class in the exact Rev04 datasheet.
Linear performance warranty: 25 years
Guaranteed output: at least 98.5% of rated nominal power at end of year one, declining no more than 0.33% per year: at least 95.53% after 10 years and 90.58% after 25 years. Applies under standard test conditions, in addition to the product warranty.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers manufacturing defects: solar cells, encapsulant, frame, junction box, connectors: under normal operating conditions. Excludes physical damage from factors beyond the manufacturer's control: improper installation, misuse, or external environmental events.
Power output shortfall
If measured output falls below the guaranteed linear thresholds under standard test conditions, Qcells will replace or compensate: replacement modules or a proportional credit only. Removal, freight, and reinstallation are not covered.
Exclusions
Removal and reinstallation labour: The standard limited warranty does not cover removing defective modules or reinstalling replacements; labour, freight, and access costs rest with the system owner.
Damage from improper installation or misuse: Damage resulting from non-compliant installation, physical abuse, unauthorised modification, or operation outside the module's rated specifications voids the warranty.
Force majeure and environmental damage: Damage from events outside Qcells' control: storms, hail, lightning, flooding, fire, or acts of third parties: is excluded.
Normal degradation within warranted limits: Gradual power degradation that remains within the guaranteed thresholds of the linear performance warranty is not a defect and is not covered.
Transferability
Issued to the original purchaser and does not automatically transfer to subsequent owners of the property or system; Qcells' standard limited warranty terms provide no transfer mechanism.
How to make a claim
Start with the original installer or seller. For a direct manufacturer claim, contact Qcells North America support with the module serial number, proof of purchase and installation records. Confirm the complete current warranty terms for the supplied 440 W SKU before purchase.
