Warranty period
Product (materials and workmanship) warranty: 25 years
For modules manufactured on or after 1 August 2019, including the MSE PERC 72 series: Mission Solar warrants freedom from material and workmanship defects materially and adversely affecting power output for 25 years from the Warranty Start Date. The start date is the earlier of customer purchase or twelve months after production.
Limited power warranty: 25 years
Mission Solar's April 2024 warranty document provides a 25-year power term, with the annual output threshold delegated to the applicable module datasheet. The reviewed M6 manual does not publish that curve for MSE425SX6S, so no first-year or annual degradation figure is asserted here.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers material or workmanship defects materially and adversely affecting power output under normal operating conditions. For a non-conforming module, Mission Solar will at its sole discretion repair it, replace it with a current-production module of the closest equivalent type, or refund the original purchase price reduced by linear depreciation over the warranty term.
Power output shortfall below guaranteed minimums
If measured output at Standard Test Conditions falls below the annual guaranteed minimum in the linear schedule, Mission Solar remedies the shortfall by repair, replacement, or: at its discretion: additional modules to make up the deficit. The obligation covers the module itself and shipping costs for the replacement unit.
Transferability
Transferable to a subsequent owner provided the modules remain at the original installation location. No prior approval from Mission Solar is required; the period runs from the original Warranty Start Date and is not reset on transfer.
Exclusions
Labour and reinstallation costs: Neither warranty covers removal of non-conforming modules, re-installation of repaired or replacement modules, or other labour costs at the installation site: explicitly excluded in the warranty document.
Improper installation or maintenance: Damage or power loss from installation contrary to Mission Solar's instructions, or from inadequate or improper maintenance, voids the warranty for that module.
Physical damage and environmental events: Damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake, lightning, hail, or other external causes beyond the module's rated mechanical load tolerances is excluded from coverage.
Unauthorised modifications: Modification or repair by parties other than Mission Solar or its authorised service provider, or use outside the module's designed or rated application, voids the warranty.
Normal degradation within guaranteed thresholds: Output decline within the annual guaranteed minimums of the linear schedule is not a warranty event: only shortfalls below those thresholds are covered.
Transferability
Transferable to subsequent owners provided the modules remain at the original installation location. The period is not reset on transfer and runs from the original Warranty Start Date.
