Warranty period
Product term: 10 years
The A7 appendix expressly gives BW-INV-SPH5K and BW-BAT-10.1P a ten-year product warranty from first installation.
Performance endpoint: 70%
The battery must retain at least 70% of usable capacity at ten years, subject to operation between -10C and 50C and the other published conditions.
Standard solar use: unlimited cycles
Solar self-consumption, time-based load shifting and backup use are covered without a cycle limit. Other applications are capped at 38.38 MWh aggregate throughput for one BW-BAT-10.1P.
What’s covered
Repair or replacement
After validating a defect in materials or workmanship, Bytewatt may repair the product onsite or at a service centre, or provide the closest product in its current range. Replacement parts may be refurbished.
Australian Consumer Law remains
The document states that its manufacturer warranty does not exclude the statutory replacement, refund and compensation rights provided by Australian Consumer Law.
Installer rebate is conditional
An installer may qualify for a service rebate after Bytewatt approves the claim. This is not a promise that the owner's complete removal, travel or reinstallation costs will be paid.
Exclusions
Installation and commissioning: Improper installation, wiring, commissioning, ventilation or work by a non-accredited installer is excluded.
External and transport damage: Storm, lightning, flood, fire, overvoltage and damage during transportation are excluded.
Unauthorised work: Unauthorised repair, reinstallation, modification or replacement without Bytewatt approval can invalidate the claim.
Unbundled components: Components not originally sold by Bytewatt as part of the system are outside this warranty, even where they share a manufacturer or model.
Transferability
The A7 document covers the purchaser, installer and end user but does not publish a clear process for transferring the remaining warranty to a later property owner. Confirm the installation record and transfer position with Bytewatt before settlement.
How to make a claim
Contact the original installer or Bytewatt's Australian contact with the model, serial number, fault code, fault details and evidence. The installer submits an RMA. Approved replacement hardware is targeted for dispatch within three working days when stock is available, and the faulty unit must be returned within 30 days.
