Warranty period
Years 1–5: parts and in-bench labour
For the first five years Deye repairs or replaces a defective product free of charge, including labour at Deye's facility. Removal from roof or wall and on-site reinstallation are never covered. Outbound freight (standard, non-expedited carrier) from Deye to the customer's Australian or New Zealand address is covered.
Years 6–10: parts only (excluding LCD and fan)
In the second five years, repair or replacement is free for parts only: labour, LCD screens, fan components, on-site costs, taxes and duties are excluded. Outbound return freight remains covered. Repaired or replacement units are warranted until the later of the remaining original period or 90 days from Deye shipping the unit back.
What’s covered
Manufacturing defects
Covers defects in materials and workmanship rendering the inverter inoperable, confirmed by Deye inspection. The SUN-5K-SG03LP1-AU is explicitly listed as a hybrid inverter in the current warranty document.
Repair or replacement
Remedy at Deye's discretion: repair, or replacement with a new, reconditioned or equivalent-specification product. Refurbished parts or units must match the original's quality and specification.
Return freight
Shipping the repaired or replacement unit back to the customer's Australian or New Zealand address is covered, via a non-expedited carrier chosen by Deye. Freight-carrier transit damage is not covered.
Australian Consumer Law
The document acknowledges non-excludable Australian Consumer Law (ACL) guarantees: replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage, independent of the manufacturer's limited warranty terms.
Exclusions
Removal and reinstallation labour: The cost of uninstalling the defective inverter and reinstalling the repaired or replacement unit is excluded across the entire 10-year warranty period.
LCD and fan (years 6–10): LCD display panels and fan components are excluded from parts coverage during the second five-year period.
Unauthorised opening or modification: Breaking the product seal or opening the casing without Deye's permission voids the warranty, as do unauthorised modifications, changes, or attempted repairs.
Incorrect installation or wiring: Damage caused by incorrect installation or commissioning, including incorrect or loose DC/AC polarity wiring: is excluded.
Force majeure: Damage caused by lightning, overvoltage, storm, fire, or other events beyond Deye's control is excluded.
Transport damage: Damage occurring during inbound shipping to the installation site, or caused by freight-carrier mishandling on the return leg, is not covered.
Failure to follow documentation: Defects arising from failure to observe the user manual, installation guide, maintenance regulations, or applicable safety standards are excluded.
Insufficient ventilation: Damage resulting from inadequate ventilation of the device during operation is excluded.
Transferability
No explicit transferability clause. The warranty is tied to the original purchase date and serial number, no stated transfer mechanism for a subsequent property owner, and none implied by the published terms.
How to make a claim
Contact the seller or Deye's Australian importer (DEYE NEW ENERGY AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, Melbourne VIC, service_au@deye.com.cn, +61 1300 xxxxxxx) or service@deye.com.cn, with product model, serial number, purchase invoice, system configuration, failure date, and fault description with error messages or photos. Lodge within one month of the failure date: late claims are treated as a waiver. Disputes may go to a certified third-party testing company; the buyer bears testing costs unless the claim proves valid, in which case Deye covers them. No purchasable extension beyond 10 years is published for Australia.
