Warranty period
25-year product warranty
Panasonic warranted EverVolt HK2 modules against defects in materials and workmanship for 25 years from installation or 26 years from manufacture, whichever occurred first, committing to repair, replace, or credit any defective module. The warranty applied to the original purchaser and was transferable to subsequent owners.
25-year linear performance guarantee
A 25-year linear power guarantee warranted no less than 90% of rated output at year 10 and 80.7% at year 25: maximum annual degradation about 0.26%, with no mid-point step-down; each year carried its own minimum output floor. Modules below guaranteed output were to be repaired, replaced, or supplemented with additional modules.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covered faults from manufacturing defects: delamination, cell cracking, frame defects, junction box failures: arising under normal operating conditions. Panasonic remediated defective modules at no cost to the system owner, subject to adequate evidence of the defect and proof of purchase.
Module replacement or credit
For accepted claims, Panasonic's remedy: at its discretion: was repair, a replacement module of equivalent or greater specification, or a credit at the current market value of an equivalent module. Panasonic could substitute a different model where the original SKU was unavailable.
Exclusions
Labour and reinstallation costs: Removal of defective modules, freight to and from a service location, and reinstallation of replacements were excluded: these costs fell to the system owner.
Physical damage and improper installation: Excluded: damage from improper handling, incorrect installation, mechanical impact, hail, lightning, flooding, fire, or other external events, and damage from installation by an unqualified person or contrary to Panasonic's guidelines.
Shading, soiling, and system-level losses: Losses from shading, soiling, bird droppings, or system-level issues such as inverter faults or wiring losses were excluded: only losses intrinsic to the module were claimable.
Modifications and unauthorised repairs: Modules modified, repaired, or altered by anyone other than Panasonic or its authorised service agents were excluded.
Transferability
Transferable to subsequent owners of the property or system, provided Panasonic was notified within a defined period. The new owner assumed the remainder of the term from the original installation date.
How to make a claim
Panasonic exited solar panel manufacturing in 2024–2025, ceasing production of all HIT and HJT modules including EverVolt. As of mid-2026 no active Panasonic solar manufacturing entity exists to honour claims. The broader corporate entity remains solvent, but whether any formal warranty support pathway remains open for Australian customers is unclear. Seek written clarification from Panasonic Australia or any appointed warranty administrator before relying on these terms: fulfilment is considered uncertain.
