Warranty period
Product warranty: standard
REC warrants the REC N-Peak 3 Black against defects in materials and workmanship for 20 years from original purchase: 25 years under REC ProTrust where installed and registered by an REC Certified Solar Professional. Remedy: repair, replacement, supplementary modules, or a market-value refund at REC's discretion.
Linear performance warranty: 25 years
The REC N-Peak 3 Black is warranted to produce at least 98% of nameplate power in the first year from production, declining no more than 0.25% per year from year two, a minimum 92% of nameplate power at end of year 25. The n-type TOPCon architecture eliminates Light Induced Degradation (LID), supporting this low degradation commitment. Measured with ±3% tolerance using REC or independently accredited testing equipment.
What’s covered
Materials and workmanship defects
Covers manufacturing faults, material defects, and assembly failures preventing the module meeting rated specifications under normal operation. Remedies at REC's election: repair, replacement with an equivalent or better product, additional modules offsetting power loss, or refund of an equivalent product's market value.
Labour: ProTrust installations only
For systems installed by an REC Certified Solar Professional and registered with REC, the ProTrust Labour Warranty covers reasonable site-attendance and module-replacement costs: 25 years on residential and commercial systems up to 25 kW, 10 years on systems from 25 kW to 500 kW. Systems above 500 kW are not eligible.
Exclusions
Removal and reinstallation labour (standard warranty): Under the standard 20-year warranty, REC will not cover or reimburse on-site labour for de-installation, removal, transport, or reinstallation of defective modules: unless the ProTrust Labour Warranty is in place.
Physical damage and misuse: Excludes damage from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper installation or wiring, unauthorised modification, or operation outside REC's installation manual conditions, as well as external causes: hail, lightning, flooding, fire, or other force majeure events.
Cosmetic defects not affecting performance: Minor cosmetic imperfections that do not materially affect the power output or structural integrity of the module are excluded from warranty coverage.
Third-party component failures: Failures attributable to non-REC inverters, racking, wiring, or other balance-of-system components are excluded, even where they contributed to module damage.
Transferability
Transferable to a subsequent owner of the solar power facility, provided the modules remain installed at the same property and the facility has not been altered or relocated. The new owner must provide proof of original purchase and transfer documentation when claiming.
How to make a claim
Submit claims via recgroup.com or warranty@recgroup.com with a completed claim form, proof of original purchase, installation records, and supporting photographs. REC may require testing by an REC-accredited laboratory before approval, and an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) number must be obtained before returning modules. Governed by the laws of Singapore.
