Warranty period

10-year product warranty

10-year limited product warranty covering defects in workmanship and materials, commencing on the earlier of installation, activation and site registration, or the retailer's invoice or delivery date: otherwise six months after manufacture. Internet connectivity to Sigen Cloud is required for remote firmware updates throughout the period; without it, Sigenergy may be unable to complete mandatory upgrades and reserves the right to reduce coverage to a baseline five-year warranty.

Minimum five-year baseline warranty

Regardless of connectivity, Sigenergy guarantees a minimum five-year warranty from first installation. This baseline applies where extended internet disconnection prevents remote firmware updates and the full 10-year commitment cannot be honoured.

Optional extension to 15 years

A purchasable factory extension takes total coverage to a maximum of 15 years. It must be purchased and activated within the first year of commissioning; the system must stay connected to Sigen Cloud for validity. Pricing is set by Sigenergy or its authorised Australian distributors.

What’s covered

Hardware materials

Covers hardware components and materials needed to restore trouble-free operation. Sigenergy supplies parts or, at its discretion, replaces the unit with a new, refurbished or functionally equivalent upgraded model.

Freight for warranty parts

Standard ground transportation and applicable customs duties for spare parts sent to site, and for the return of the allegedly defective unit to Sigenergy, are covered under the warranty.

Remote software diagnosis and updates

Where internet-connected, Sigenergy may resolve issues remotely by modifying configuration or pushing firmware updates at no charge: part of the warranty obligations, requiring no separate claim.

Exclusions

Labour and travel costs: Travel, accommodation, and the claimant's own employees or contractors attending site are excluded unless agreed with Sigenergy in writing in advance.

Improper installation: Damage from installation by unqualified or untrained personnel, or contrary to Sigenergy's installation instructions and user manual, is excluded.

Force majeure: Damage caused by storm, lightning strike, fire, thunderstorm, flooding, pests or other events beyond normal operating conditions is not covered.

Unauthorised repair or modification: Disassembly, repair or replacement of parts by third parties not authorised by Sigenergy voids the warranty.

Coastal and marine environments: Equipment installed within 500 metres of a coastline or in areas exposed to sea winds is excluded from warranty coverage.

External power quality issues: Damage arising from grid-side power quality problems, including voltage imbalance, over-voltage, voltage sag or surge: is not covered.

Cosmetic damage and wear: Surface rust from harsh environments, scratches, engraving, labels, irreversible marking, contamination or theft are excluded where they do not affect functional operation.

Consequential and indirect losses: Loss of generation revenue, profit or business, and any indirect or consequential losses from downtime or defect are excluded. Liability is capped at the inverter system's purchase value.

Third-party components: Damage caused by software, interfacing equipment, parts or supplies not supplied by Sigenergy is excluded.

Transferability

Transferable to a subsequent owner provided the equipment remains at the original installation location. Transfer to a new site is not covered.

How to make a claim

Lodge claims within 30 days of failure via the mySigen APP, which auto-collects device information, error logs and contact details. Where internet is unavailable, on-site inspection and data collection under Sigenergy instruction precedes hardware replacement. Sigenergy will, at its discretion, repair by remote configuration or software update, or arrange on-site replacement with a functionally equivalent or superior unit. Hardware materials and standard ground freight are covered; travel, accommodation and on-site labour are not. A paid extension to 15 years total must be purchased and activated within the first year of commissioning, with the plant connected to Sigen Cloud.
