Warranty period
Standard product warranty
Standard 12-year product warranty from installation, subject to installation by a licensed electrician and registration with SolarEdge within the required activation period. Covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions as specified in the product documentation.
Extended warranty options
The 12-year warranty may be extended to 20 or 25 years by purchase through SolarEdge or an authorised distributor, typically within the first year of installation. Pricing varies by market and reseller; in Australia, availability and pricing run through SolarEdge's authorised distribution network.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
SolarEdge warrants freedom from defects in materials and workmanship during the warranty period under normal use. For a covered failure, SolarEdge will at its sole discretion repair or replace the unit with the same or a functionally equivalent product.
Replacement unit provision
For approved claims, SolarEdge supplies a replacement inverter: new or refurbished to equivalent specification: warranted for the remainder of the original term or a SolarEdge-determined minimum, whichever is greater.
Exclusions
Installation and removal labour: Removal of the defective unit and reinstallation of the replacement are not covered: borne by the system owner or their installer.
Physical damage and misuse: Damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, unauthorised modification, or improper installation is excluded from warranty coverage.
Electrical surge and environmental damage: Damage resulting from power surges, lightning strikes, floods, fire, or other external causes beyond SolarEdge's control is not covered.
Unauthorised servicing: Any warranty claim is void if the inverter has been opened, modified, or serviced by any party other than a SolarEdge-authorised technician.
Non-registration: Coverage may depend on registering with SolarEdge's monitoring platform within the required timeframe after installation; failure to register may affect eligibility.
Commercial or off-grid use beyond rated specifications: Use of the inverter in applications or conditions outside the specifications stated in the product datasheet may void the warranty.
Transferability
Non-transferable: applies only to the original purchaser or end-user at the original installation site, and does not pass to subsequent property owners.
How to make a claim
Lodge claims with SolarEdge directly or through the installing SolarEdge-authorised installer, via the support portal or SolarEdge's local Australian support team, providing proof of purchase, installation details, and site registration information. The standard term is 12 years, extendable to 20 or 25 via a paid extension through authorised channels: generally purchased within 12 months of installation. Removal and reinstallation labour for warranty replacements is not covered and is an out-of-pocket expense for the system owner.
