Warranty period
Standard product warranty: 10 years
Sungrow's standard 10-year product warranty runs from commissioning or, where commissioning cannot be verified, from shipment. Covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions: the baseline Australian term without any purchased extension.
What’s covered
Parts and components
Sungrow repairs or replaces at its discretion any unit or component defective due to materials or workmanship within the warranty period. Replacements may be new or refurbished equivalents of equal specification.
Remote diagnostics support
Remote fault diagnostics via iSolarCloud and SmartLogger/SCADA integration form part of warranty support, assessing fault validity before field technicians or replacement parts are dispatched.
Extended warranty option
Paid extensions take C&I coverage up to 20 years total, negotiated on a project basis with Sungrow Australia or authorised distributors. Pricing is not published at a fixed retail rate and varies with fleet size and site conditions.
Exclusions
Labour and reinstallation: Removal, reinstallation, and associated labour are excluded: standard practice for C&I inverters. Labour coverage may be negotiated in a commercial service agreement or extended warranty package.
Damage from improper installation: Void if installed contrary to Sungrow's installation manual, AS/NZS 4777.2, or applicable Australian Standards. A licensed electrician must perform the installation.
Damage from external causes: Lightning strike, flood, fire, grid anomalies, overvoltage beyond design specifications, physical impact, and other external causes are excluded.
Unauthorised modification or repair: Any unit that has been modified, opened, or repaired by persons other than Sungrow-authorised service personnel is excluded from warranty coverage.
Consumables and wear items: Cooling fans and other consumable or wear items are typically covered for a shorter period than the main unit; confirm terms with Sungrow Australia or the distributor at purchase.
Performance degradation not attributable to defect: Normal performance variation from environmental conditions, soiling, shading, or grid curtailment is not covered. No published linear performance warranty: this is a C&I inverter, not a panel.
Transferability
Generally non-transferable: remains with the original purchaser or project owner. In commercial project contexts, transfer to a new building owner may be negotiable at project sale; confirm in writing with Sungrow Australia before any ownership change.
How to make a claim
Lodge Australian claims through the authorised Sungrow distributor or Sungrow Australia directly. iSolarCloud remote monitoring is the primary diagnostic entry point; claimants typically provide iSolarCloud fault logs, commissioning records, and proof of purchase. Sungrow Australia has an established commercial service network with local support. A paid extension to up to 20 years is available for C&I projects: recommended for long-life assets; pricing is project-specific, obtained at procurement. Sungrow (SZSE: 300274) is a large, publicly listed manufacturer; assess fulfilment risk alongside its market position and local service presence.
