Warranty period
Standard product warranty
Standard five-year product warranty from installation, covering defects in materials and workmanship, applying automatically on registration through Sungrow's online portal. The warranty commences when the inverter is commissioned and grid-connected.
Extended warranty option
An optional extension to 10 years total is purchasable at installation or within a defined registration window, activated through the Sungrow iSolarCloud platform for a fee payable to Sungrow or an authorised distributor. Once active, extension terms mirror the standard conditions.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers faults from defects in materials or workmanship under normal residential operation, including failure of internal components: inverter modules, communication boards, display units: attributable to manufacturing. Sungrow repairs or replaces the defective unit at its discretion.
Replacement unit provision
For accepted claims, Sungrow supplies a replacement or repaired unit at no charge to the original purchaser: possibly a refurbished unit of equivalent specification. Replacements carry the balance of the original warranty period, not a fresh term.
Exclusions
Labour and reinstallation: Labour for removing the faulty inverter or reinstalling the replacement is not covered: the owner must arrange it through a Clean Energy Council–accredited installer.
Damage from incorrect installation: Faults from incorrect installation, an unqualified installer, or non-compliance with Sungrow's installation manual are excluded. Installation must follow Australian Standards and relevant Sungrow technical documentation.
Acts of God and external damage: Lightning, surges, flooding, fire, vermin, and other external events beyond normal operating conditions are excluded, including grid supply quality issues outside specified input tolerances.
Unauthorised modification or repair: Modification or attempted repair by persons not authorised by Sungrow voids the warranty; opening the enclosure without Sungrow's written authorisation is an unauthorised modification.
Normal wear and degradation: Consumables, cosmetic wear, and performance degradation within published efficiency specifications are not warranty defects, including minor display blemishes and normal in-spec efficiency variation.
Transferability
Non-transferable: applies only to the original purchaser. On property sale, the warranty does not pass to the new owner; confirm warranty status directly with Sungrow at the time of any property transaction.
How to make a claim
Australian claims are managed by Sungrow Australia Pty Ltd. Contact Sungrow's Australian technical support with proof of purchase, serial number, and installation date. Sungrow may require iSolarCloud diagnostic data before dispatching a replacement. An optional extension to 10 years total is available at installation: confirm pricing with the installer at point of sale, as it may differ from post-installation purchase.
