Warranty period
25-year product warranty
Trina Solar warrants the TSM-NEG18R.25 against defects in materials, workmanship, and manufacture that materially impede power generation for 25 years from the warranty start date. The ANZ datasheet (TSM_AUS_EN_2024_PA3) confirms the extended term, supported by a dedicated Limited Warranty Supplement for ANZ installations.
30-year linear performance warranty
Power output of the TSM-NEG18R.25 is guaranteed for 30 years: maximum first-year degradation 1.0%, maximum annual decline 0.4% from year 2, and no less than 87.4% of nameplate output at end of year 30, measured under Standard Test Conditions.
What’s covered
Material and workmanship defects
Covers defects in materials, workmanship, or manufacture that materially impede power generation during the 25-year product warranty, including glass breakage from the glass or module itself, but not from external causes.
Monofacial dual glass construction
A monofacial dual glass module: the power output warranty applies to the front side. The dual glass construction is warranted to contribute to durability and fire resistance over the full warranty period.
Remedy options
Trina Solar may, at its sole discretion, repair the defective product, replace it with an equivalent or successor model of equal or greater nameplate power, supply additional modules to compensate for the measured power shortfall, or refund the salvage or pro-rata value of the affected modules. Trina Solar bears direct repair costs and freight to the buyer during the warranty period.
Exclusions
Labour and reinstallation: Removing, handling, repacking, and reinstalling modules is explicitly excluded; these costs remain with the buyer for the entire warranty period.
Cosmetic deterioration: Scratches, stains, mechanical wear, rust, mould, deformation, or discolouration occurring after delivery are not considered defects under this warranty.
Improper installation or operation: Modules installed or operated contrary to Trina Solar's user manual, by unqualified persons, or in conditions outside the rated environmental specifications are not covered.
External damage: Damage from force majeure events including storm, hail, lightning, flood, fire, or other events beyond Trina Solar's control are excluded.
Australia: authorised resellers only: In Australia the warranty is valid only for products purchased from authorised Australian resellers; contact Australiaservice@trinasolar.com for reseller details.
Parallel imports: Products sold into Australia from another country without Trina Solar's consent are excluded from warranty coverage.
Transferability
Transferable provided the modules remain at their original location and have not been moved or disassembled since installation; any subsequent property owner qualifies as warranty holder on those terms.
