Warranty period
Standard product warranty: 12.5 years
Warranted free from defects in materials and workmanship for 150 months (12.5 years) from installation, or no more than 155 months from shipment date, whichever comes first. The same period applies to the integrated Fox Hub G2 energy management unit.
Capacity retention: EQ-4000 battery module (integrated)
Integrated EQ-4000 modules are warranted to retain at least 70% of nominal energy for 12.5 years from initial installation, or until the module-size throughput limit is reached, whichever comes first: from 26.8 MWh (EQ-4000-H2, 7.95 kWh nominal) to 93.8 MWh (EQ-4000-H7, 27.82 kWh nominal). Conditional on ambient temperatures remaining between -10°C and 55°C throughout.
Accessories: 2-year warranty
Ancillary accessory products including dataloggers, meters, and current transformers supplied with the PowerQ system carry a separate 2-year warranty.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Confirmed defects are remedied by repair on site or at a designated Fox service centre, or supply of the closest equivalent product in the current range. Repaired or replaced products carry the remainder of the original term: replacement does not reset or extend it.
Spare parts, product exchange, and logistics
Covers spare-part replacement, exchange of defective products, and associated logistics costs. Repair labour, installation and reinstallation costs are explicitly excluded.
Registration requirement
Register via the Fox ESS warranty portal (warranty.foxesscloud.com) within six weeks of installation and commissioning. Without active registration and FoxCloud data communication, coverage may drop to a five-year term rather than the full 12.5 years.
Exclusions
Labour and installation costs: Repair, installation and reinstallation costs are not covered: parts and logistics are supplied, but removal and reinstallation labour is borne by the owner.
Non-accredited installation: Defects arising from installation by a non-accredited installer, or from improper commissioning, start-up, or operation, are excluded from all warranty obligations.
Force majeure and physical damage: Excludes damage from storm, lightning strike, overvoltage, fire, thunderstorm, flooding or transportation, plus cosmetic issues and wear and tear not adversely affecting function.
Improper connectors and third-party components: Excludes claims arising from connectors or components not supplied with the product or sourced independently by the installer or end-user.
Unauthorised repair or modification: Any unauthorised repair, reinstallation, or modification of the product voids warranty eligibility for the affected components.
Components not originally sold by Fox ESS: Components not initially sold by Fox ESS as part of the system are not covered: even if the same manufacturer or model as those Fox provided.
Transferability
Original purchaser only (distributor, solar retailer or accredited installer) and the end-user at the installation address. No transferability provision: it does not follow the product to a subsequent property owner.
