Warranty period
12-year product warranty
Covers the aPower (SKU APR-05K15V1-AU, model aPower X-02-AU) against defects in materials and workmanship for twelve (12) years from initial installation: only where purchased through an authorised reseller and installed by a FranklinWH-certified installer. Repair or replacement does not extend the period; replacements carry the remainder from the original installation date.
Performance warranty: 70% capacity retention at 12 years or 60 MWh
Guarantees not less than 70% of rated energy capacity (15 kWh, measured at 25°C and 2.5 kW charge/discharge power) at the earlier of the 12-year expiry or 60 MWh aggregate throughput. Full rated 15 kWh is guaranteed at commencement. Below the 70% threshold before either trigger, FranklinWH will repair, replace or refund at its sole discretion.
Internet connectivity condition: reduction to 4 years if persistently offline
The full 12-year warranty requires consistent internet connectivity for remote software updates. After more than 90 consecutive days offline, FranklinWH issues a reconnection notice; if connectivity is not restored, the warranty automatically reduces to four years from the original installation date.
Registration condition: reduction to 4 years if unregistered
Registration at installation is required for the full 12-year warranty: unregistered systems are eligible only for a four-year limited warranty from the installation date.
Security update support period: 5 years
Security updates are provided for five (5) years from initial installation. FranklinWH may extend and publish a longer period, but will not shorten it once published.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers defects in materials and workmanship arising under normal use. Remedy: repair or replacement of the faulty aPower or aGate with an equivalent product (new or refurbished) at FranklinWH's sole discretion. Where neither is commercially practicable or timely, FranklinWH may refund the purchase price less reasonable depreciation for use.
Performance shortfall below 70% capacity retention
Usable capacity below 70% of the rated 15 kWh before the 12-year or 60 MWh threshold is a warranted defect: remedied by repair, replacement or refund as appropriate. Capacity is assessed at 25°C and 2.5 kW charge/discharge power against the rated specification.
Australian Consumer Law guarantees
Provided in addition to, and without excluding, restricting or limiting: Australian Consumer Law (ACL) rights. Major failure: replacement or refund, plus compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Failures short of major that breach acceptable quality: repair or replacement.
Exclusions
Labour and reinstallation costs: Removal, relocation, reinstallation or alteration from the original installation location is not covered: it requires FranklinWH's prior written consent and is at the owner's cost.
Non-certified or unlicensed installation: Void if installed by non-FranklinWH-certified personnel, or where installation did not follow FranklinWH's instructions or applicable electrical codes and standards.
Unauthorised repairs or modifications: Repair, disassembly, modification, tampering or replacement attempts by unauthorised personnel void the warranty. All service must be by FranklinWH-certified installers via an authorised service ticket.
Purchase from unauthorised channels: Products obtained from sources not officially authorised by FranklinWH are not eligible for warranty coverage.
Misuse, negligence, and improper use: Excludes damage from improper use, misuse, abuse, negligence, or operation beyond the intended conditions in the product documentation.
External and environmental factors: Excludes damage from lightning, power surges, floods, tidal waves, fires, earthquakes, storms or other force majeure events, and from installation outside FranklinWH's guidance, including extreme temperatures, humidity, altitude or corrosive environments.
Shipping and storage damage: Shipping and transit damage is excluded; report it to the distributor or shipper within five (5) business days of delivery.
Failure to report within 2 weeks: Defects or damage must be reported to FranklinWH or an authorised installer within two (2) weeks of occurrence or discovery: later claims may not be accepted.
Normal wear, tear, and cosmetic deterioration: Excludes regular wear and tear, cosmetic imperfections: dents, scratches, discolouration, and superficial defects not materially affecting performance, plus normal operating noise or vibration below 50 dB that does not adversely affect the system.
Data loss and software compatibility: Data loss and software compatibility issues are not covered under this warranty.
Life-support and medical equipment use: Not designed for primary or backup power to life-support systems or medical equipment. FranklinWH disclaims all liability for such use and may decline warranty service for products used in these prohibited applications.
Transferability
The remaining period transfers with the unit on ownership change: claimants must show proof of original purchase and any subsequent transfers. Transfer does not reset or extend the term; only the time remaining from original installation passes on.
How to make a claim
Contact your authorised FranklinWH installer or reseller first; if unavailable, contact FranklinWH Australia Pty Ltd at service-au@franklinwh.com or 1800 161 300.
