Warranty period
Standard product warranty: 5 years
Covers defects in materials and workmanship for five years from commissioning, not purchase date: provided the product is registered with Fronius within the required window, typically 12 months of purchase, to activate the full standard term.
Extended warranty: up to 10 years
A paid Warranty Extension takes coverage to 10 years from commissioning. It must be purchased within a defined window after commissioning (typically 12 months), through authorised Fronius partners, and covers the same scope: defects in materials and workmanship: for the additional five years.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers faults from defective materials or manufacturing errors that stop the inverter functioning to its published specifications. Remedy: repair or replacement at Fronius's discretion: the sole remedy under the express warranty.
Replacement parts and units
Where repair is not practicable, a replacement: new or functionally equivalent refurbished: is supplied, warranted for the remainder of the original period or 90 days from replacement, whichever is longer.
Exclusions
Labour and travel costs: Removal of the faulty inverter, reinstallation of the replacement, and associated travel costs are not covered: borne by the system owner or installer.
Damage from external causes: Excludes damage from incorrect installation, misuse, unauthorised modification, voltage surges, lightning, flooding, fire, or other events outside normal operating conditions.
Non-authorised service or modification: Repair, servicing or modification by anyone other than Fronius-authorised service partners voids the warranty, including unauthorised firmware modifications.
Failure to register: Unregistered products may not receive the full standard term, and the extended warranty cannot be activated after the purchase window closes.
Consumable and wear components: Consumables subject to normal wear, including fans: may not be covered for the full term and are assessed case by case.
Consequential loss: Excludes consequential losses: lost energy generation, electricity costs, economic loss from downtime. Australian Consumer Law statutory guarantees may provide additional rights independent of this warranty.
Transferability
Non-transferable: original purchaser only; on property sale the express warranty does not pass to the new owner. Independent Australian Consumer Law guarantees may still cover subsequent owners where goods fail acceptable quality standards within a reasonable period.
