Warranty period
Standard product warranty: 5 years
A 5-year standard warranty under the Fronius Warranty Plus commercial programme, from commissioning or: where commissioning cannot be verified: purchase date. The 5-year period reflects Fronius's commercial and industrial class, distinct from residential products (e.g. Symo GEN24, Primo GEN24) where Solar.web registration extends coverage to 10 years.
Extended warranty: purchasable extension
Purchasable extensions run beyond the initial 5-year term, with the Fronius 5+5 promotion applying in some markets and periods. Extensions must be purchased within the original warranty period and continue on the same Warranty Plus terms: parts and on-site labour included. Pricing and availability vary by market and are not published in the standard document.
What’s covered
Parts and components
Warranty Plus covers replacement parts or a replacement unit for defects in materials or workmanship: all internal electronic components, chassis, display, and standard communications hardware. Consumables and user-replaceable items such as externally fitted DC string fuses are not covered.
On-site labour
Warranty Plus includes on-site labour for diagnosis and repair or replacement by an authorised Fronius service partner: material for a 100 kW unit where crane or elevated-platform access would otherwise add cost. Conditional on accessibility during standard business hours; excludes costs from restricted site access or third-party coordination delays.
Freight and logistics
Where a defective unit must return to a Fronius service depot, Fronius bears freight both ways under Warranty Plus. For large commercial inverters of this class, Fronius may arrange advance replacement pending repair assessment.
Exclusions
Installation faults: Excludes defects from incorrect installation, wiring outside Fronius specifications, or non-compliance with the installation manual and applicable Australian standards, including AS/NZS 4777.2 and local network operator requirements.
Physical and environmental damage: Excludes damage from physical impact, flooding, lightning, corrosive environments beyond the rated ingress protection, or other external events beyond Fronius's control. Rated IP65, not IP66, and not rated for immersion or high-pressure washdown.
Unauthorised modification or repair: Modification, repair or maintenance by parties not authorised by Fronius voids the warranty, including firmware changes outside officially released Fronius updates and any hardware alterations.
Normal consumables and wear: Cooling fans and other mechanical wear items carry standard wear exclusions. Premature fan failure from a manufacturing defect within the period may be covered; end-of-life fan replacement is not.
Optional AFCI module: The Fronius Arc Guard (AFCI) module, an optional factory-fitted add-on on the Direct variant: is covered under the same terms as the main unit. AFCI software activation, reconfiguration costs, or issues triggered solely by third-party wiring conditions may be assessed separately.
Transferability
Non-transferable in standard terms: remains with the original purchaser. Fronius may consider transfer in commercial property sales at its discretion; contact Fronius AU directly before settlement.
How to make a claim
Lodge claims via the Fronius Solar.web platform or directly with Fronius Australia, which operates a local service network and Australian-based technical support. The standard 5-year commercial warranty is extendable via a purchasable Warranty Plus extension: confirm pricing and availability with Fronius AU at commissioning. Fronius International GmbH is a privately held Austrian manufacturer with a global service network; no public insolvency proceedings identified as at mid-2026.
