Warranty period

Years 1–5: Fronius Warranty Plus

The first five years from commissioning run under Fronius Warranty Plus: replacement materials, on-site servicing labour, and transport covered. Commences at commissioning, or no later than 24 months after factory shipment if commissioning is delayed.

Years 6–10: Fronius Warranty (materials only)

Years six through ten run under the standard Fronius Warranty: replacement materials and manufacturing defects only. Removal and reinstallation labour and transport to and from the service centre are excluded, falling to the system owner.

Optional extension: years 11–15

A paid extension takes the standard 10-year term to a maximum of 15 years. Purchase within the first six months of the free warranty period commencing; pricing varies by inverter model and is shown in Fronius Solar.web.

What’s covered

Material and manufacturing defects

Covers defects in materials and workmanship arising from Fronius's responsibility during normal installation and use. Remedy: repair or replacement at Fronius's discretion, subject to the applicable period (Warranty Plus or standard Warranty).

Labour and transport (years 1–5 only)

In the Warranty Plus period (years 1–5), Fronius covers a qualified technician attending site plus all associated transport costs: coverage that does not extend into the standard Warranty period (years 6–10).

Exclusions

Wear and consumable components: Excludes DC isolators, fuses, bayonet connectors, varistors, surge arresters (including any integrated SPD fitted as standard), string fuses, and incorrectly installed mechanical screw connections.

Labour and transport in years 6–10: After Warranty Plus ends at year five, the owner bears removal, transport to a Fronius service centre, and return shipping: only parts are covered in years 6–10.

Lost energy production: No compensation for lost electricity generation or revenue from inverter downtime or failure, regardless of warranty period.

Fronius accessories and monitoring hardware: Fronius accessories, the Ohmpilot, Smart Meter, and third-party batteries are excluded from registration and ineligible for extended warranty coverage.

Cosmetic defects: Defects affecting appearance only, without impact on inverter function, are not covered.

Failure to register or maintain software: Requires Fronius Solar.web registration within 30 months of delivery, and software update checks at least every three months: failure may affect warranty validity.

Transferability

Transfers automatically to a subsequent owner if the inverter remains at the original site, unmodified: it does not follow the unit to a new location.

How to make a claim

Activate the 10-year warranty by registering in Fronius Solar.web within 30 months of factory delivery. Lodge claims via Fronius customer service. A paid 15-year extension must be purchased within six months of the free warranty period commencing; pricing is model-specific, shown in Solar.web.
