Warranty period
Standard warranty period
A standard five-year warranty runs from installation or six months from manufacture, whichever is earlier, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions.
Extended warranty options
Purchasable extensions take coverage to 10 or 20 years total from original installation. Typically purchased within a defined window: often the standard five-year period: through GoodWe's authorised distributor network or online portal. Pricing varies by market and product tier.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers failures from defects in materials or manufacturing workmanship under normal use per GoodWe's published installation and operating guidelines. Remedy: repair or replacement at GoodWe's discretion, at no charge for parts.
Replacement and repair
Units GoodWe determines defective are repaired or replaced with equivalent or superior specification. Replacements: new or refurbished: carry the remaining original term or a minimum of 90 days, whichever is longer.
Exclusions
Removal and reinstallation labour: Removal of the faulty inverter and reinstallation of the replacement are not covered: the customer or installer bears all labour, travel and access costs.
Physical damage and misuse: Excludes damage from improper installation, unauthorised modification, physical impact, flooding, lightning, grid overvoltage, or operation outside published specifications.
Consumable components: Internal cooling fans and other consumables may face separate wear-based exclusions after a defined service interval, depending on the warranty terms at purchase.
Non-authorised installation: May be voided by installation by an unqualified or non-authorised installer, or non-compliance with AS/NZS 4777 and relevant local electrical standards.
Acts of God and environmental damage: Excludes damage from events outside GoodWe's control: floods, fires, earthquakes, sustained overvoltage events, among others.
Transferability
Not transferable to a subsequent property owner or purchaser: rights remain with the original end-user purchaser, linked to the original installation site.
How to make a claim
Contact GoodWe's Australian distributor (currently Solaray Energy / GoodWe ANZ) or submit via the GoodWe Service Portal at service.goodwe.com, typically with a fault log or monitoring data export, proof of purchase and installer details. Australian warranty support runs through the local distribution network. Purchasable 10- or 20-year extensions must generally be registered within the standard five-year window: confirm pricing and eligibility with your GoodWe-authorised distributor at installation.
