Warranty period
Standard product warranty: 5 years
Five-year limited product warranty from installation or 6 months from shipment date, whichever occurs first. Growatt will, at its discretion, repair or replace units with defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions. Covers the inverter unit itself: ancillary accessories and consumables (such as fans and fuses) are typically excluded or carry shorter periods.
Extended warranty: optional extension to 10 years
An optional extended warranty takes total coverage to 10 years from the original installation date. It must generally be purchased within a defined window (typically the standard warranty period) through Growatt's authorised distribution partners. Pricing varies by distributor and market: in Australia, confirm availability and cost with the installer or Growatt's local authorised distributor at purchase.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship that stop the inverter meeting published specifications under normal installation and operating conditions. Growatt will, at its sole discretion, repair using new or equivalent reconditioned parts, or replace with an equivalent model.
Replacement unit
Where repair is not practicable, Growatt supplies a replacement of equal or equivalent specification: new or factory-refurbished. Replacements carry the remainder of the original term, not a new full-term warranty.
Exclusions
Labour and removal costs: Labour, access equipment, and removal and reinstallation costs are not covered: these fall to the system owner and are typically passed on by the installer.
Damage from improper installation: Damage from installation not complying with Growatt's manual, local wiring rules (AS/NZS 3000), or grid-connection requirements is excluded. Australian installations require a Clean Energy Council accredited installer.
Damage from external causes: Lightning, power surges, flooding, physical impact, fire, and other external events beyond Growatt's control are excluded. Some events may fall under the owner's home or commercial property insurance.
Unauthorised modifications or repairs: Repair or modification by a party not authorised by Growatt voids the warranty, including use of non-genuine Growatt spare parts.
Accessories and consumables: Consumables: fans, DC switches, display interfaces: may carry shorter warranty periods or be excluded entirely; check the current warranty document for specifics.
Normal degradation: Gradual efficiency degradation within the inverter's published tolerance range due to normal ageing is not considered a defect and is not covered.
Transferability
Not transferable: applies only to the original purchaser and original installation site. If the property or system is sold, the new owner does not inherit the remaining warranty.
How to make a claim
Lodge Australian claims through the original installing retailer or Growatt's authorised Australian distributor, with proof of purchase, installation date, and a fault description. Growatt's local Australian service team triages the claim and advises whether on-site diagnosis, return of the unit, or direct replacement is required. The standard term is five years; an optional extension to 10 years is available through authorised channels: confirm current pricing and availability at installation, as the extension window may be time-limited.
