Warranty period
Standard product warranty: 5 years
Standard 5-year product warranty from installation or 6 months from manufacture, whichever is earlier. Huawei repairs or replaces units with defects in materials or workmanship at no charge for parts. Covers the inverter and internal components, not ancillary installation hardware, cabling, or mounting structures.
Extended warranty: up to 20 years (optional, purchasable)
Optional extensions take total coverage to 10, 15, or 20 years from installation, purchased through an authorised Huawei distributor or reseller within the original 5-year period. Scope mirrors the standard terms: parts replacement or repair. Pricing varies by term length via Huawei-authorised channel partners.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Huawei remedies defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions: at its discretion by repairing the unit, or supplying a refurbished or new replacement of equivalent or superior specification.
Remote diagnostics and firmware support
Where connected to Huawei FusionSolar monitoring, Huawei may perform remote diagnostics to assess claims. Firmware updates needed to resolve a covered defect are included at no charge.
Exclusions
Removal and reinstallation labour: Costs of removing the faulty inverter or reinstalling the replacement are not covered: these labour costs fall to the system owner or their installer.
Damage from improper installation: Failures caused by installation not complying with Huawei's published installation guidelines, applicable Australian Standards, or Clean Energy Council Accreditation requirements are excluded.
Damage from external causes: Lightning strike, power surge, flood, fire, physical impact, vermin ingress, and other external events are excluded, as is connection to equipment outside Huawei's published compatibility specifications.
Unauthorised modification or repair: Opening, modifying, repairing, or servicing by a party not authorised by Huawei voids the warranty in full, including firmware modifications not approved by Huawei.
Normal wear and consumables: Wear items: internal cooling fans and capacitors degrading within specified service life under normal conditions: are not covered unless failure is premature and attributable to a manufacturing defect.
Non-transferability: Registered to the original purchaser/installer; does not transfer to subsequent owners unless a separate transfer agreement is arranged with Huawei, which is not a standard offering.
Transferability
Not transferable to subsequent property owners as a standard entitlement. Huawei may assist new owners case-by-case, but no formal transfer mechanism exists in the standard terms.
How to make a claim
Submit claims through a Huawei-authorised service partner or the FusionSolar portal, with proof of purchase, installation date, and serial number. Huawei aims to respond within a commercially reasonable timeframe; Australian response times depend on parts availability through local distribution. Coverage is extendable beyond 5 years to a maximum of 20 via paid extension packages, purchased through an authorised channel partner during the active warranty period.
