Warranty period
Product warranty: 25 years (30 years with registration)
The Performance 7 residential module is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 25 years from installation by default, extended to 30 years where the system is registered with Maxeon within the prescribed period. Governed under the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Linear power performance warranty: 25 or 30 years
Guaranteed output: minimum 99.0% of rated power in Year 1, then maximum annual degradation of 0.40% for the remaining term (25 or 30 years depending on registration), no less than 87.4% of original rated output at end of a 30-year registered term. Consistent with the Performance series' shingled-cell bifacial architecture.
What’s covered
Materials and workmanship defects
Covers defects in materials and workmanship causing non-conformance with published specifications. Remedy at Maxeon's discretion: repair, replacement with an equivalent or better module, or a pro-rated refund: full purchase price in the first five years, reducing linearly thereafter over the applicable term.
Labour: removal and reinstallation (limited)
For modules installed in Australia by Maxeon, an affiliate, or an Authorised Partner, Maxeon contributes to removal and reinstallation: capped at AU$375 for up to five modules per claim, plus AU$75 per additional module. Coverage is partial; larger arrays incur costs beyond the cap.
Australian Consumer Law
Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition: replacement or refund for a major failure, compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage, and repair or replacement where goods fail acceptable quality. These rights are independent of, and unreduced by, the limited warranty.
Exclusions
Misuse, neglect, and improper installation: Excludes damage from misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, or installation not conforming to Maxeon's guidelines and applicable electrical codes; unauthorised modifications or alterations void coverage.
Acts of nature and environmental damage: Excluded: lightning, flood, fire, hail, storm, and other acts of nature, plus conditions exceeding rated operational specifications: excessive voltage, wind load, or snow load.
Cosmetic defects not affecting performance: Minor surface blemishes, frame scratches, or cosmetic discolouration that have no material effect on electrical performance are not covered.
Registration not completed for 30-year term: The 30-year warranty period is contingent on timely system registration with Maxeon. Unregistered systems default to 25-year coverage for both product and performance warranties.
Transferability
Transferable to a new property owner on sale of the premises, with formal notification to Maxeon and ownership documentation. The remaining term transfers with the installation site.
How to make a claim
Lodge claims through Maxeon's portal at maxeon.com/warranty-claim, typically via an authorised local installer who conducts a site inspection and submits proof of purchase, installation records, module serial numbers, and evidence of the alleged defect. IMPORTANT: as at June 2026, Maxeon Solar Technologies has filed for judicial management (restructuring) in the Singapore High Court and was placed under interim judicial management in April 2026. Fulfilment: particularly over the full 25- or 30-year term: cannot be guaranteed. Australian consumers retain ACL protections against the seller/installer regardless of Maxeon's corporate status and should seek advice accordingly.
