Warranty period
10-year product warranty: Sigen Energy Controller
The Sigen Energy Controller (inverter) carries a 10-year limited product warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions. The period starts on the earlier of installation, on-site activation and registration, or the retailer's invoice or delivery date; if neither can be established, six months after manufacture.
Connectivity condition: 10-year vs 5-year floor
The full 10-year warranty on inverter and battery requires the system to stay internet-connected for periodic remote firmware updates. After extended disconnection without reconnection, Sigenergy may be unable to honour the full 10-year commitment. Regardless of connectivity, a minimum five-year warranty applies from first installation.
Optional 5-year extension (15 years total)
A purchasable 5-year factory extension for the SIG-STOR-EC-10.0-SP takes total inverter coverage to 15 years from installation. Sold separately through authorised distributors, it must be purchased and registered within the distributor's timeframe. Australian pricing was unpublished at audit: confirm with an authorised Sigenergy installer or distributor.
What’s covered
Hardware materials and labour
Covers hardware materials costs to restore trouble-free operation, plus labour for repairs, uninstalling and reinstalling spare parts and products on site, and basic travel costs of Sigenergy's authorised service partner.
Shipping and customs
Covers normal ground transport and applicable customs duties for warranty spare parts, and the cost of returning an allegedly defective unit to Sigenergy.
Remedy at Sigenergy's discretion
For a confirmed fault, Sigenergy will at its discretion fix the issue via configuration change or software update, or exchange the inverter for a brand-new, refurbished functionally equivalent, or upgraded functionally equivalent or superior unit. Warranty on a repaired or replaced part continues for the greater of the remaining original period or six months from repair or replacement.
Exclusions
Improper installation or use: Damage caused by an installer not following Sigenergy's installation instructions, or by an end user not following the user manual, is excluded.
Wilful conduct and unauthorised repair: Wilful conduct by users, authorised installers or certified third parties, and disassembly, repairs or part replacement by unauthorised personnel, are excluded.
Force majeure: Storm damage, lightning strike, over-voltage, fire, thunderstorm, flooding and pest damage are excluded.
Cosmetic and wear-and-tear: Cosmetic issues and normal wear and tear that do not adversely affect the proper functioning of the product are excluded.
Third-party software, parts and products: Damage caused by software, interfacing, parts, supplies or other products not supplied by Sigenergy is excluded.
Transport damage and temperature exceedance: Damage caused during transport and damage caused by operation outside the specified temperature range are excluded.
Environmental corrosion, vandalism and theft: Enclosure rust from harsh environments, accidents or external influences, plus vandalism, engraving, labels, irreversible marking, contamination or theft, are excluded.
Coastal installation within 500 m of coastline: Equipment installed in coastal areas within 500 metres of the coastline is excluded from warranty coverage.
Indirect and consequential losses: Loss of profit, use, business, revenue or anticipated savings, increased costs, indirect or consequential loss, and loss of power generated during downtime are not covered.
Extended internet disconnection: After extended internet disconnection, Sigenergy may decline to honour the full 10-year commitment; a 5-year floor warranty remains in place.
Transferability
Transferable from the original owner to the next owner provided the device remains at the initial installation location: possible with a property sale, not after physical relocation of the unit.
How to make a claim
Submit claims within 30 days of failure via a service ticket in the mySigen app (Support menu), which auto-collects contact details, model and serial numbers, installation and failure dates, app error messages and troubleshooting history. Without internet, the claimant must conduct on-site inspection and data collection under Sigenergy's instruction. For valid claims, Sigenergy arranges on-site replacement or exchange via its authorised service partner network; the claimant must grant access, make time available and ensure the technician's safety. A handling fee may apply to claims found not covered. A 5-year factory extension for the SIG-STOR-EC-10.0-SP takes total inverter coverage to 15 years: confirm availability and cost with an authorised Australian distributor at installation. Units replaced under the 2025 voluntary recall received an additional 2-year extension at no cost.
