Warranty period
Energy-storage inverter term: 120 months
SOFAR's Australian table gives ME, HYD and ESI-series energy-storage inverters a 120-month standard factory warranty.
Start date
The term begins at installation or valid invoice purchase date, or six months after production where neither can be proven.
What’s covered
Repair, replacement or equivalent-goods cost
SOFAR may repair, replace or pay the cost of repair or equivalent goods for a covered product defect.
One freight movement plus labour and material
The factory warranty expressly covers one freight movement to the end user plus labour and material necessary to restore a functioning product, subject to its conditions.
Exclusions
Travel and third-party costs: Travel, accommodation, third-party staff, express delivery and consequential losses are excluded even though one freight movement and restoration labour are included.
Prior authorisation: SOFAR must authorise on-site service and any replacement before work starts. Service rebates are conditional.
Installation and environmental causes: Unauthorised installation, inadequate ventilation, transport damage, lightning, flood, pests, corrosion and grid events outside specification are excluded.
Unauthorised modification: Opening, modification, repair or part replacement without written SOFAR approval invalidates cover.
Transferability
The factory terms do not provide a clear transfer process to a later property owner. Confirm ownership and remaining cover with SOFAR Australia.
How to make a claim
Contact the authorised dealer or installer first. Provide the serial number, invoice or commissioning date, fault evidence and remote diagnostics. SOFAR must authorise any site visit or replacement.
