Warranty period
25-year product warranty
All TOPCon modules in the HSM-ND48 series (covering the 210R G12R-48P range) are warranted free from defects in materials and workmanship that materially impair structural integrity or normal functioning under normal installation, use, and service conditions: 25 years from the warranty start date, the earlier of array interconnection or six months after delivery. Electroluminescence indications such as microcracks are not themselves defects unless they materially impair structural integrity or functioning.
30-year linear performance warranty
TOPCon HSM-ND48 modules are warranted to produce at least 99% of rated minimum peak power in the first year, degrading no more than 0.40% per year, with a guaranteed minimum of 87.4% of rated minimum peak power at end of year 30, a 30-year performance term from the warranty start date. Measured peak power is assessed at Standard Test Conditions (1,000 W/m², AM1.5, 25°C) per IEC 61215 and IEC 60904, with a 3% tolerance.
What’s covered
Remedy options
For any valid claim the manufacturer will: at its sole discretion: repair, replace, or refund the defective modules, paying reasonable, customary transport for return of covered modules and delivery of repaired or replacement modules to the original delivery location. Replacements may be refurbished or remanufactured but will be electrically and mechanically compatible, with a substantially equal or greater power rating.
Refund calculation
Product warranty refunds equal the spot price of comparable modules at the time of claim multiplied by (1 − n/25), where n is years in service since the warranty start date; performance warranty refunds use (1 − n/30). Spot price is the prevailing market price of modules of similar type, specification, and performance when the claim is assessed.
Australian Consumer Law rights preserved
Warranty benefits are in addition to, and do not limit, rights under the Australian Consumer Law: replacement or refund for a major failure, compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage, and repair or replacement where goods fail acceptable quality. Nothing in the warranty excludes, restricts, or modifies rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or state and territory fair trading legislation.
Exclusions
Misuse, abuse, and improper installation: Excludes defects or power loss from misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, alteration, or improper installation, including installation not complying with the manufacturer's installation and O&M instructions or applicable national, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
Acts of nature and external damage: Excluded: damage caused directly or indirectly by lightning, hail, flood, fire, or other acts of nature; power failures or surges; external impact events; biological activity; persons; or industrial chemical exposure.
Unauthorised repair or modification: Defects arising from repair or modification by anyone other than an approved service technician of the manufacturer are excluded from warranty coverage.
Cosmetic defects and normal wear and tear: Cosmetic defects and normal wear: frame colour fading, weathering of glass coatings, discolouration around individual cells: are excluded unless output falls below the guaranteed peak power threshold.
Salt water exposure: Modules that, in the manufacturer's or TCL SunPower's absolute judgement, may be subject to direct contact with bodies of salt water are excluded.
Floating mounting systems: Modules on floating mounting systems are excluded entirely unless the manufacturer has given prior written approval, subject to any conditions in that approval.
Altered or removed labels: Modules for which the labels containing product type or serial number have been altered, removed, or rendered illegible are excluded from all warranty coverage.
Modules relocated without approval: Modules moved from their original installation location without express written approval of the manufacturer and/or TCL SunPower are excluded.
Labour and system integration costs: Neither the manufacturer nor TCL SunPower is liable for loss or damage from installation, removal, reinstallation, system integration, or third-party component performance, except where the Australian Consumer Law bars exclusion.
EL indications without functional impact: Microcracks or cell anomalies identified solely through electroluminescence imaging are excluded unless they amount to a product or performance defect as defined in the warranty.
Transferability
May be assigned to a subsequent owner of the modules; the warranty holder should notify TCL SunPower and provide reasonable documentation evidencing the ownership transfer. Claims must be filed by or on behalf of the current warranty holder, and the manufacturer may require documentation confirming the holder's identity and the claimant's authority.
How to make a claim
Direct claims to TCL SunPower (the Australian administrator) at techsupport.australia@sunpowerglobal.com as soon as reasonably practicable after becoming aware of an alleged defect. TCL SunPower may require proof of purchase, delivery or installation records, serial and model numbers, and supporting evidence. Returns require prior written authorisation from the manufacturer, and claims filed after the warranty term expires will be rejected.
