Warranty period
Product warranty: 25 years
Tindo Solar warrants the Walara against defects in materials and workmanship for 25 years from installation: longer than the 10–12-year terms on some panels in this dataset: repairing or replacing defective modules at no charge for parts. Removal and reinstallation labour is not covered.
Linear performance guarantee: 25 years
Guaranteed output: no less than 98% of rated output in year one, declining no more than about 0.4% per year, with a minimum of about 87.5% of rated power at end of year 25. The linear structure supports predictable output modelling. Exact degradation figures were unconfirmed on a public datasheet at the audit date; figures here reflect Tindo's published warranty claims and industry-standard N-type TOPCon benchmarks.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers manufacturing defects: delamination, cell cracking from a manufacturing fault, frame defects, and junction box or connector failures from production-quality issues. Tindo's Adelaide facility handles claims directly, without routing through an offshore parent entity.
Repair or replacement remedy
For a valid claim, Tindo will at its discretion repair the module or supply a replacement of equivalent or greater rated power. As an Australian manufacturer it holds local replacement stock; the warranty document does not otherwise quantify lead times.
Performance shortfall
If measured output falls below the guaranteed curve during the 25-year period, Tindo will repair or replace the underperforming module. The guarantee applies to rated power under Standard Test Conditions (STC); claims require documented measurement evidence.
Exclusions
Removal and reinstallation labour: Costs of removing defective modules and reinstalling replacements are not covered: the purchaser or owner bears all labour costs of a claim, standard practice across the solar panel industry.
Physical damage and external causes: Excludes damage from accidents, mishandling, improper installation, hail beyond rated impact resistance, flooding, fire, lightning, acts of nature, or any cause external to the module, including installation not compliant with Tindo Solar's guidelines.
Normal degradation within guaranteed limits: Degradation within the published linear curve is not a defect; only output below the guaranteed minimum floor at the time of measurement is a valid performance claim.
Unauthorised modifications: Modification, repair, or alteration by anyone other than Tindo Solar or its authorised agents voids the warranty, including drilling extra mounting holes, altering the junction box configuration, or connecting the module contrary to the technical specifications.
Cosmetic issues not affecting performance: Minor cosmetic imperfections: surface scratches, frame scuffs, slight colour variations: that do not materially affect electrical output or structural integrity are not covered.
Transferability
Transferable to subsequent property owners, provided the new owner registers the transfer with Tindo Solar within a specified grace period after the change of ownership; late registration may affect the remaining term's transferability. Property purchasers should verify registration status and obtain written confirmation of the remaining warranty period before settlement.
How to make a claim
Lodge claims directly with Tindo Solar's Australian customer service channel, providing proof of purchase, installation documentation, and evidence of the defect or performance shortfall. As the Australian manufacturer, Tindo handles all claims domestically. As of the audit date Tindo is a privately held Australian company with ARENA backing and a 15-year manufacturing track record, but it is small relative to global tier-one suppliers: warranty fulfilment over a 25-year horizon carries inherent financial risk for any single-entity manufacturer.
