  • Usable energy for the actual load. Size storage around evening consumption, tariff strategy and reserve needs rather than the largest available stack.
  • Backup is a system design. A battery label alone does not establish whole-home backup, phase coverage, surge capability or black-start behaviour.
  • Warranty limits can be dual-triggered. Years, throughput, retained capacity, operating mode and registration conditions can all affect the practical term.

  • Match the scoring tier. Residential, small-commercial and C&I scores use different weightings and should not be compared across tier boundaries.

  • Support matters over operating life. Monitoring access, replacement process, local service capability and warranty extensions affect the ownership experience.

A score is useful after the model, market and system questions are defined. This order keeps a global comparison from being mistaken for a local installation outcome.

  1. Confirm the exact local record. Open the Australia market register and match the model number, local status, checked date and source links to the quoted equipment.
  2. Compare like with like. Use Compare within panels, batteries or inverters, then read the score, class or tier, specifications and evidence coverage together. The Australia lens adds context without changing the global score.
  3. Read the warranty as a claim path. The warranty comparison records term, remedy, labour, freight, removal and reinstallation, and transferability where the source establishes them. It does not replace the governing document, the installer contract or Australian Consumer Law.
  4. Turn missing evidence into a question. The Australia view of open evidence requests currently lists 38 scorecards with 42requests. "Not located" and "estimated" describe source status, not product quality.

  5. It does not replace the contract. The supplied model, configuration, warranty document, installer scope and applicable Australian Consumer Law remain the documents that govern a purchase and claim.
