DC-coupled battery
Stores DC energy and relies on system power electronics outside the battery product for household AC.

Capacity guarantee: minimum retained at year 10
No year-by-year capacity schedule is published for this product - the manufacturer guarantees only this end-of-term minimum, not a specific decline curve.
Blackout protection
79 / 100#8 of 90 batteriesWhole-home (via hybrid inverter)
The blackout score is a standalone benchmark of outage resilience only - it re-weights sourced specs already scored in this product’s pillars (backup tier, switchover, surge strength, backup power, off-grid recharge) and never affects the overall score. Dots show the full battery fleet; the marker is this product.

Global benchmark. This scorecard is benchmarked globally. A global score does not imply local availability, certification, warranty coverage, or installer compatibility.
Benchmark anchor. The score is fixed to the existing three-module SPHI-19.8-L0 stack. Its 19.95 kWh benchmark is nominal energy; a 100% DoD cycle test does not establish a separately measured usable-energy value. Scored model: SPHI-19.8-L0 three-module stack · checked 2026-10-05. Evidence.

Strong evidence coverage
30 of 30 scored criteria link directly to a published source.
Values marked estimated, derived, or not found remain visible on the audit sheet and do not carry the same evidential weight as a linked source. Coverage measures direct links, not an independent guarantee that a claim is correct.

Rings, outside in: manufacturer claim, certified or regulator-listed, third-party source. The centre is review.solar's own measurement, empty for every product today. Warranty terms and design facts that rest on the maker's own word are counted beside the rings; a reviewed absence, or one that reaches beyond the maker's claim, stays in them. How the evidence puzzle works
Record revision. Exact specification BS1547 dated 2026-04-22, retrievable governing ESS warranty effective May 2024, current product and support pages, conflicting later warranty locator and buyer-consequence boundaries reviewed 2026-08-07. First-market DE overlay review 2026-09-01: official German catalogues recorded; existing Australian and United States overlays and scores unchanged. Exact US EnergyTrak update-servicing and app/gateway release boundaries integrated 2026-10-05 from accepted current maker support, monitoring and release documentation; battery security-policy hold retained. Nominal benchmark metadata and visible current cycle-test endpoint reconciled 2026-10-05 against BS1547 - 4-22-26 PDF pages 1 and 3; hidden older text layers excluded. Existing configuration, scores and governing warranty endpoint retained.

DE Support Note
- Current text
- On 19 October 2026 Briggs & Stratton's German site (briggsandstratton.com/de-de) was reachable and its product navigation listed engines, portable generators, care products, accessories and petrol mowers, with no battery or energy storage product and no SimpliPHI listing. The Energy Solutions site redirected to en-us only, and its sitemap listed 413 en-us pages and no German pages; the legacy simpliphipower.com timed out. Because the maker's German catalogue omits SPHI-19.8-L0 and the SimpliPHI line, the German overlay is unavailable.

Note
- Before
- The score is fixed to the flagship three-module 19.95 kWh stack that Briggs & Stratton markets and the California lists carry as SPHI-19.8-L0.
- After
- The score is fixed to the existing three-module SPHI-19.8-L0 stack. Its 19.95 kWh benchmark is nominal energy; a 100% DoD cycle test does not establish a separately measured usable-energy value.

- The exact three-module stack publishes 19.95 kWh nominal, 13.98 kW continuous and 17.5 kW for ten seconds. Usable energy is not separately published. The battery remains current in the United States catalogue. EnergyTrak update servicing uses a separate gateway; the current ET-GWY-20 monitoring page names SimpliPHI 6.6 compatibility and over-the-air updates. Published EnergyTrak app and gateway release history does not establish the battery BMS version, signed battery firmware, a vulnerability disclosure policy or a security support lifetime. Offline programmer features documented for SAVR/Briggs Controller are not established for this battery.
