Warranty period
10-year product warranty
The Energy Storage Module (ESM) is covered against defects in materials and workmanship for 10 years from commissioning or 10.5 years from manufacture, whichever expires first. Confirmed defective units are repaired or replaced at no charge for parts: removal and reinstallation labour is not covered.
Capacity retention guarantee
Guarantees a minimum 70% of rated usable energy capacity at the end of 10 years or 6,000 cycles, whichever comes first. Below 70% of nameplate capacity under normal operating conditions, Sigenergy repairs or replaces the module. Capacity is assessed under the warranty document's specified test conditions.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers manufacturing defects, production-process component failures, and factory-installed software or firmware faults causing performance materially below published specifications: across the battery modules, integrated Battery Management System (BMS), and associated power electronics within the enclosure.
Parts replacement
Validated claims receive replacement parts or, at Sigenergy's discretion, a unit of equivalent or greater specification: new or factory-refurbished. Replacements carry the remaining term of the original unit, not a fresh 10 years.
Firmware and software faults
Covers defects in Sigenergy-supplied firmware or energy management software causing incorrect operation or degraded performance. Over-the-air firmware updates during the warranty period are free.
Exclusions
Installation labour: Removal and reinstallation costs: labour, travel, access equipment: are not covered; they fall to the system owner or their installer.
Physical damage and misuse: Damage from improper installation, physical impact, flooding, fire, lightning, or operation outside specified environmental and electrical parameters voids the warranty.
Unauthorised modification: Modification, repair or servicing by a party not authorised by Sigenergy, or use of non-approved components: voids coverage on the affected modules.
Grid and utility events: Excludes damage or degradation from abnormal grid conditions: sustained over-voltage, under-voltage, or power surges originating outside the system.
Normal capacity fade within specified limits: Capacity reduction remaining above the warranted 70% retention floor at the applicable cycle count or year is not a warrantable defect.
Consumables and cosmetic items: Excludes cosmetic deterioration, surface corrosion, and consumables such as fuses and circuit breakers activated by fault conditions.
Transferability
Not automatically transferable on sale of the premises. Transfer may be available at Sigenergy's discretion: contact Sigenergy or the Australian distributor before settlement to confirm terms. No transfer fee is publicly stated.
How to make a claim
Lodge claims through the authorised installing dealer or Sigenergy's Australian distributor. Retain proof of purchase and the commissioning report: required to validate the warranty start date. Sigenergy targets an initial response within two business days of a validated claim; on-site attendance depends on parts availability and technician location.
