How to claim
Claims are initiated by the original installer (or, failing that, the current owner) via Silfab's online RMA portal at silfabsolar.com/rma/, within one year of discovering the defect and before warran Full summary, conditions and sources: page 2.
Product warranty: 25 years (registered installer required)
Silfab warrants the SIL-440 QD against defects in materials and workmanship for 25 years from the warranty start date, provided installation was by a registered and approved Silfab installer under Silfab's one-time company registration programme; otherwise the base product warranty is 12 years from delivery. The 25-year term costs the owner nothing extra where that condition is met.
30-year linear power performance warranty
Output is warranted at no less than 98% of nameplate maximum power (Pmax) at end of Year 1, with annual degradation no more than 0.30% from Year 2 through Year 30: at least 89.3% of nameplate Pmax at end of year 30. This schedule applies to the Prime QD N-type tier and carries a lower maximum annual degradation (0.30%/year) than Silfab's standard monocrystalline tier.
What’s covered
Defects in materials and workmanship
Covers manufacturing defects, workmanship failures, and physical defects arising under normal use and proper installation. Remedy: at Silfab's discretion: repair, replacement with an equivalent or better module, or credit at the module's then-current market value. Silfab covers shipping of replacements; return shipping of defective units is at the owner's expense.
Power output shortfall
If measured output falls below the warranted minimum at any point in the 30-year performance period, Silfab will: at its discretion: repair, replace, or credit the affected modules. Claims require measurement evidence showing output below the threshold at the applicable year of the linear schedule.
Exclusions
Labour for removal and reinstallation: All costs of removing defective modules from the roof and reinstalling replacements are excluded: labour is the owner's responsibility in all circumstances.
Relocation of modules: Modules must remain at their original installation location; moving panels to a different address or roof position voids the warranty.
Saltwater proximity: Modules installed within five metres of a saltwater body are excluded from warranty coverage due to the accelerated corrosion risk in such environments.
Unauthorised repairs: Any repairs carried out by parties not authorised by Silfab Solar will void the warranty. All servicing must be performed by Silfab or an approved party.
Unregistered installer (25-year extension): Without a registered Silfab installer, the product warranty reverts from 25 to 12 years: confirm registration status before purchase.
Transferability
Transfers automatically to a new owner when the property changes title, no transfer registration or fee required. Coverage ends if the modules are removed from the original installation site.
How to make a claim
Claims are initiated by the original installer (or, failing that, the current owner) via Silfab's online RMA portal at silfabsolar.com/rma/, within one year of discovering the defect and before warranty expiry. Submissions must include module serial numbers, a description of the defect with evidence such as photos, and confirmation the modules remain at their original location. Silfab issues written RMA instructions; returns are not accepted without a valid RMA number. The registered installer programme and RMA infrastructure are North America-centric: Australian installers and owners may face practical difficulty lodging claims, and there is no Silfab subsidiary or authorised service network in Australia as at mid-2026.
